Last week I had the pleasure to sit down with Anja Simmons, a Parenting Success Coach, to discuss concious parenting. It was a fantastic conversation, one where I walked away feeling filled up and validated.
What I really loved about this conversation is that I really felt heard by Anja. This parenting journey is NOT about perfection, but showing up everyday and parenting from the heart, not by patterns that may have come from your past.
My journey into motherhood was a rough one. I thought I would fall into it with an effortless ease, but the truth is I struggled for a long time. Motherhood actually felt unnatural to me, which, as you can imagine, was a huge shock.
For me, it was about getting in touch with my primal instincts, something I had never needed to do before. I felt vulnerable and naked... like all the time.
With the birth of my son, came my rebirth into motherhood. Both of my children have given me such valuable lessons and because of these lessons, I have transformed. It's been quite the journey... and continues to be quite the journey.
I would love to hear from you. What was your experience into motherhood? In what ways has it changed you? Feel free to share in the comments below.
