I am currently on a turmeric kick. Can you tell? Between this post and my last one, all I can think about is turmeric!
There's something so amazing about turmeric and it's ever warming power over the body when you consume it. And honestly, I need some warmth right now. It's mid April and it's been snowing all day. Like a lot. And although it's not freezing outside (which is refreshing), with snow comes a desire to be cozy. Hence this golden mylk.
This isn't my first golden mylk recipe ( the other is in my Blender Lattes e-book) but what's different about this one is that it's all ready to go. No fuss. Simply add the ingredients to your blender with hot water and voila!
In my last post I wrote about the healing properties of turmeric and what needs to be combined with it to make curcumin bioavailable to it can be the anti-inflammatory powerhouse: fat and pepper. Well, this drink has both.
It also has maca. Oh sweet, energizing and hormone stabilizing maca. Though this latte is totally caffeine free, it offers a hit of energy thanks to the maca and the digestive stimulation of ginger. It's like waking up the body with a warm hug. How nice is that? It's better then the anxiety induced brain and body shaker I used to experience when drinking coffee (hence, I don't drink coffee much anymore).
- 1-2 medjool dates, pitted
- 1 heaping tbsp pumpkin seed butter (almond, cashew or sunflower butter would also work well)
- 1 tbsp Golden Mylk
- 1/8 tsp true cinnamon
- 1 3/4 boiling water
- Put all ingredients into a high speed blender and blend on high until latte is smooth and creamy.
Much love and CHEERS!
PS. I would love to hear from you! What's your favourite blender latte? Comment below.
